I spent about an hour looking for a blog theme — on foreign sites, of course. Why? Because there isn’t really anyone on Turkish sites sharing a proper, well-made theme 😀. So I jumped on Yahoo, did a quick search, and tons of free themes came up. All of them were beautiful in their own way.

But some of them forced you to add images. Some had ridiculous sidebars (the left-side menus). Some only pushed advertising to the front, and the truly nice ones weren’t free — they were premium. So I went with this design instead…

Honestly, I liked it: clean, nice, and English. Since I have a bit of an “English-language footing,” I was able to translate the blog from English to Turkish in roughly 2 hours. It could have been faster, but there’s this thing called UTF-8 — it handles Turkish characters. Of course, without thinking about it, I used Turkish characters everywhere. Then I had to go back and put all those Turkish characters into the UTF-8 implementation. And in the end, I finished.

I imagine there are people who can handle this UTF-8 business directly in Turkish; if you know how, please tell me. We’ll teach you what we know, and you teach us — quick and simple. So that was the whole design adventure. For now, take care and stay safe.
