The speaker shares the story of transitioning from a PhD program at Galatasaray University to pursuing research in England. While studying semiotics during the pandemic, they became deeply interested in how migration is represented in museums.

After completing a project on the Bursa Migration History Museum, they discovered a scholarship opportunity for migration and museology studies through an academic newsletter. Feeling as though the opportunity was meant for them, they decided to apply and relocate abroad with their spouse.
